On Sept. 16 I will be formally stepping down as your MPP and embarking on a new career as CEO of the Ontario Real Estate Association. It was a tremendous honour to serve as your voice at Queen’s Park.

There may be many questions about what will happen now.

Let me answer some of those questions for you.

First off, the Premier has six months to call a by-election after my last official day as MPP.

My current staff will also be stepping down as of Sept. 16, but the Beamsville Constituency Office will remain open and staffed by someone provided through Queen’s Park.

In the meantime, my staff is currently trying to wrap up any cases that are ongoing or complex. They are also reaching out to people with open files to ensure they know what will happen next and how to proceed after Sept. 16.

Due to rules to protect the privacy of constituents, all files in the office must be shredded, and cannot be passed on to the next MPP. Upon request, and where possible, we can provide information from those files to the constituent involved in the issue.

If you have recently worked with my office and have questions, please contact my staff prior to Sept. 16.

My constituency office, located at 4961 King Street, Unit M1 in Beamsville, is open Monday to Thursday, 9:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You can also call 905-563-1755 or email info@timhudak.ca.

Our goal is to take care of all current cases to the best of our ability before Sept. 16 and provide direction and assistance for any new issues that come up prior to my last day as MPP.

Thank you for your faith in me over six elections and 21 years.
