Today MPP Tim Hudak commended the Ontario government for nominating Maureen Jensen for the top job at the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), calling her an outstanding choice for the position.
Hudak, Opposition Critic of Financial Services, which includes the OSC, praised Jensen’s work as Executive Director of the Commission and acknowledged her accomplishments while leading day-to-day operations of the OSC.
“Maureen is a savvy and experienced leader in the securities sector and isn’t afraid to make tough, controversial recommendations that improve transparency, build investor confidence, and incorporate sensible consumer protections,” said Hudak.
“I first got to know Maureen when I was Minister of Northern Development and Mines and I was working with mining industry leaders to create the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario. She demonstrated that she is smart, talented, confident and very much able to get the job done,” said Hudak, acknowledging Jensen’s extensive background which includes technical and business leadership roles in the mining industry as well as senior positions in the regulatory and investment sectors.
“I look forward to working with Maureen in my role as Critic of Financial Services,” said Hudak, adding he conferred with PC Caucus, and they support the nomination.
